22" Craftsman Mower (Model #37078)

I have a 22" Craftsman mower (Model #37078). I bought it a year or so ago. So far this machine has been pretty good. Unlike my previous mower, this one has a key start; now it doesn't take forever and ever just to get the mower started.

Another plus is the fact that this mover is relatively quiet. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not going to be library quiet, but it won't be the lawn mower you hear three blocks down.

A major plus is the fact that this mower doesn't require a lot of maintenance. All you have to do is fill it up and it's ready to go. After the summer last year, I just put it in the garage and forgot about it. Just took it out not long ago, and it worked like a charm.

Speaking of gas, this mower is pretty good about not using too much. Two or three of those red gasoline containers is good enough for about the entire summer. The one problem I have with this mower (as well as my last) is how much it vibrates. I understand that this is a machine with moving parts, so I don't blame it - but, when I hold the bar to long, it rubs off on the side of my thumbs, so afterwards, it kind of peels.

Another negative is the wheels. Craftsman mowers all seem to have the same plastic wheels. Last time, my wheels got a small crack, so I'm hoping this time I have better luck.

I have roughly 6000 square feet yard. It takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to get the front and back yards mowed. So I would say that this mower is good for a medium sized lawn. For bigger yards, you might want to get the tractor kind. Aside from this, I am pretty happy with my purchase. I bought it from a local Sears when it was on sale for about $230.
