Ariens 34" Wide Area Walk Behind Lawn Mower

I purchased this lawn mower approximately six weeks ago, from Home Depot. So far, I have been very pleased with the machine. It tackles both grass and thicker plants such as dandelions and other weeds with equal ease; the cutting swath is nice and wide, so I have to make fewer trips up and down the yard to get the whole job done.

I also never have to go back and re-mow areas, which is a HUGE improvement over the lawnmower we owned previously. The ground in our yard is slightly uneven, and even in the bumpy areas the Ariens provides a nice clean cut.

The Ariens is just overall easy to operate, push, and maneuver around our property. The only thing I'd really change about it is that it was a bit pricer than I expected; we paid about $1,300 for our mower, which makes it the most expensive lawnmower I've ever bought.

However, provided it keeps working the way it's been performing so far, I guess I'm ultimately okay with that. Would have been nice if it were slightly cheaper, however.

Ariens Walk Behind Mower Also Works Well With Snapper Blade
by: Alfred A. Yamamoto

I purchased my Ariens walk behind mower in 1999 from Carl's Mower and Saw in Ferndale, WA. I only mention where I purchased the machine because of the great service from the company. I had originally bought the Ariens mower for commercial use but ended up using the mower for light commercial and home use.

I bought it because of the wet weather in NW Washington and have used it in all kinds of conditions from weather to terrain. The house I am living in was purchased late in the year with an early snow fall, with the snow about 2 inches in depth by the time I was done mowing, I was able to clean up 2 years of crabapple seeds and debri before it was to late and would have had to walk through the muck all winter.

Although, the bagging blade does well, it was suggested that a snapper blade with attachable wings would work better as it did. Bagging with the mower in wet, rainy weather it bagged like the grass was dry.

The mulching blade and attachment works really well in wet weather also. It also has a side chute that I have used on grass approximately 4 feet in height. I have used the mulching blade also and it mulches great in wet weather. When it was new on lawns that would normally take 3 hours to mow with other mowers, took an hour with the consistency of the self propelled.

After 3 years of home and light commercial use is when the propelling parts started to tire out. But still works great for the size of lawn I have now and its been in use for 12 years. I would recommend this mower on any lawns less than 10,000 square feet and would last at least 15 years before it would tire out unless regular oil changes and maintenance are not maintained.

In dryer weather with more dust I would keep the snapper blade with wings off the mower, as it tends to upset the neighbors with the excess dust being blown around.

Ariens Does A Good Job
by: Bill Braxton

I recently purchased an Ariens lawn mower from home depot. I price shopped for many mowers and Home Depot has the best price. I paid $1200.00 for this mower and I am very please with the way it operates. I own 2 acres of land and it has no problems keeping the grass cut at an even level.

I have used this mower for the past 2 years and have not experienced any problems with it. I do keep it maintained and washed after every use. I do not use the mower in places where it should not be simply for the fact that I do not want to damage a great investment.
