Black and Decker Electric Mower - MM1800
Last summer I purchased a Black & Decker MM1800
lawn mower as a result of the failure of my last unit. Before setting out to purchase this particular model from Home Depot, I did some extensive research online and concluded that the advantages of an electric mower outweigh a gasoline mower.
This is especially true with the lack of noise associated with a electric unit and in addition, the lack of fumes that a gasoline unit emits. Here in Fort Washington, MD we are surrounded by grass and overgrowth in front of most properties, so I needed a mower that can cut the grass as well as weeds and similar overgrowth.
In the year I have owned this unit, no repairs or maintenance has ever been required and I am fully content with it. This particular unit features a 12-amp motor which gives the performance similar to that of a gasoline model. In the beginning, this mower was used exclusively on the large grassy areas, but after using it for a short while, it is hard not to build up confidence to use it on small garden areas. This is attributable to its virtually silent electric motor, and lack of weight.
Comparable to gas powered lawn mowers the electric is weightless and easily maneuverable. The only drawback, which in itself is not really a drawback, is that this particular unit is electric which means the use of a long electrical extension cord is to be expected.
However, this is a minor inconvenience considering the benefits that outweigh it. In conclusion, I would recommend the Black and Decker MM1800 to anyone in the market who is considering a new lawn mower, as this model is ideal for those who suffer from allergens associated with gasoline engines. In addition, to the aforementioned reason, this model is also a good fit for those individuals who are concerned about noise and environmental pollution.
