Bolens 11A-084C163 Push Mower

Our lawn mower is the Bolens 11A084C163 and we live in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a small manual push mower with a side mulching baffle. It is a 22" rotary mower with a Briggs & Stratton 120000 Engine Model Series. It has an adjustable height handle and two very easy to read manuals about the construction, usage, cleaning and maintenance, safety features and 2-year warranty.

My daughter and I were able to put the mower together with ease and help each other with mowing the lawn on a regular basis approximately twice a month from early spring through late fall of the each year.

Our Bolens Lawn Mower works well on our slanted lawn with its intermittent holes and hilly landscape. It cuts straight, is easy to push, mulches well and the bag collects efficiently and stays on the majority of the time. Occasionally, we do have to put the bag back on the chute deflector and at the very start of spring the choke is a little difficult to start. But, for a small and light-weight manual lawn mower, it is fast and maneuvers well in our yard.

I estimate that it cuts our one-acre yard in about 20 minutes. This is a true delight and the lawn looks neat, well-groomed and evenly cut. The height adjuster is a big help with keeping our lawn green and protected in very hot weather. It helps to keep the lawn long, lush and covered with mulch for protection from the sun.

My Bolens Lawn Mower works best on large flat areas of the lawn and on the small areas around our trees. The fact that our mower has performed well and lasted 8 years without any major repairs or breakdowns is remarkable and I am very thankful to Bolens for such a reliable and superior performing product.

The negatives are few with my Bolens Manual Push Lawn Mower. It does have lots of precautionary measures for safety and requires regular maintenance. We must have the blades sharpened, buy gasoline and oil on a regular basis, but these are issues for all push mowers. Taking it to the shop for regular maintenance requires a reasonable amount of time and money, but it is well worth the effort. Cutting is most difficult when edge maneuvering is required, but our hedge cutter takes care of those areas after the lawn mowing is finished.

We purchased our Bolens 11A-084C163 Lawn Mower in May of 2003 and continue to use it currently this season without any problems. It is a joy to use and makes our lawn standout in our neighborhood. We are proud of the results that this mower produced over the past 8 years at such a great price.

We purchased our Bolens Lawn Mower offline and it has served our small lawn well both in the front and back yard. A relatively small lawn can be very attractive when maintained with the right tools. This is true for our particular landscape and we are extremely proud. Our lawn is well kept and a lovely green sight in our community thanks to our Bolens Manual Push Lawn Mower.
