Black & Decker CM1936 Cordless Lawn Mower

I have had my Black and Decker mower for a couple of years. It is the battery operated CM1936 cordless. The concept of cordless mowing is great but the mower never mowed very well, leaving streaks of uncut grass in my lawn. Other than that I like the plastic housing, still looks like new and is easy to keep clean.

The CM1936 mower has around 36 Volts of power which is enough to mow my lawn, and the height adustment is ingenious. After 2 years, I need a new battery, I have noticed it having trouble keeping up the last year, especially after fertilizing.

The battery costs up to $120.00. I found a replacement for as little as $39.00, which I bought to replace my own. It didn't work properly with my Black and Decker mower so I don't recommend you do this. Buy a proper manufacturer supplied battery.

Now I am thinking that I will just buy a new mower and I guess I am not happy enough with this one to buy another just like it. So I am going to look at another brand.

My son just bought a cordless mower on my recommendation, but I didn't suggest he buy the Black and Decker because it was too expensive. I hate to pitch my mower because it looks like new but I don't want to pay so much to replace the battery especially since it never cut real well. I got it at Sears. Hope this helps!

No Fumes With Electric Mowers

I purchased a Black And Decker Electric Lawnmower - Model CM1936 Cordless a few summers ago to fix up my front lawn. I opted for an electric battery powered mower because of its simplicity and lack of noise that you would normally find in a traditional gasoline powered unit. This is based on my past experiences with gas models compared to my current electric one.

I would choose the electric over the gas because there are less fumes to be inhaled especially on those hot summer days. This is due in part to my respiratory condition as well.

This particular brand was offered in the Home Depot however I dont believe they are stocked any longer. It is ideal for medium to large lawns due to the fact of its cordless capabilities. All together I've owned this unit for 3 years and used it every spring/summer season hence with no complaints.

I would recommend it to anyone else in the market for a similar unit or who is weighing the advantages and disadavntages of an eletric to gasoline mower.

Quietness Is A Real Benefit For Me

Five years ago my once reliable gasoline powered lawn mower finally came to the end of its life so with the spring season right around the corner I decided it was time to purchases a new mower. At first, I was searching on the internet for another gas powered mower but after carefully reading some reviews I decided to pursue an electric unit instead.

Based on my research on the obvious advantages of using a electrical lawn mower, I made the trip to my local Home Depot and purchased a Black & Decker CM1936 36V 19" cordless mower for practically a steal. I can honestly say the biggest benefit of this unit and all electric units for that matter is the lack of noise and odor associated with a gasoline mower.

This Black & Decker unit is virtually quiet which means I can no longer avoid tending to my lawn on early mornings like before. In the five years that I?ve used this mower, I have never had any reason to replace or repair because it is virtually maintenance free which is probably due to its electrical nature.

The fact that it is powered by an electric motor simply means there are less moving parts to service comparable to a gasoline engine found in a gas mower. Originally I purchased the mower with the presence of mind to only tend to the front lawn on my property. However since the great success I?ve had with it I decided to use it in my small garden.

Its lack of weight and virtual lack of noise gives me the confidence to mow my small flower garden around the delicate plants that I grow. In addition, to its user friendliness this mower is also easy to clean because of its light weight construction I simply flip is on its side and remove the blades held down with just two clips and wash it under a faucet.

In conclusion, I would recommend a Black & Decker to anyone in the market for a mower to consider this unit or at minimum a electric lawn mower.

Can Be Quite Heavy To Push

I have a fairly new lawn mower. The make and model is Black & Decker CM1936 19" Mower. I am from Bellevue Nebraska and there is only about 7 months out of an entire year that I have to mow my yard being that it snows a lot here.

I purchased this item at Target about 3 months ago in the Target store. I really think that it is honestly a good quality mower being that I prefer Electric mowers. I would give it 3 out of 5 compared to other mowers of its kind.

I thought that it was a good price and this mower appeared like it had a lot of power. I have been using it for 3 months about once every 2 weeks and it has been doing very well.

I would say this lawn mower would be best for smaller yards being that it is an upright push mower and it is quite heavy. Also the battery does tend to go out pretty quickly. I usually cut half of my yard, recharge the battery and finish a few hours later. I really think it is worth not having to pay for the gas for a mower however since gas prices have skyrocketed. Also it?s really quiet which I love because I have really sensitive ears.

It cuts really well overall I never have to go over the same spot of grass more than once or twice occasionally. I would say the things I don?t like about it would be that it is quite heavy. It?s a little bulky as well; it is pretty wide compared to the others that were beside in the store.

When I bought it I was told that this model starts really easy and it does. Overall I would say this is a great mower as long as you don?t mind haven?t to recharge it frequently. If I had to do it over again I would still buy this mower.

Battery Didn't Last Very Long

I have a Black & Decker CM1936 19" Mower and use it in West Palm Beach, Florida. This lawn mower I used once for my yard until I got a ride on lawn mower. It was very good and durable, easy to clean and easy to push.

Only issue I had was it seemed to die out a little too soon and it took a while to recharge. It's probably better for small yards but I have a big yard so it didn't really work for me. I had it for about 6 months until I traded up. I got the lawn mower from a friend who didn't want it anymore which is probably the reason for it not working so well. It's perfect for small gardens and turns really well for how it looks.

Great Decision To Switch To Black And Decker CM1936

Black & Decker CM1936 is the way to go! I bought this mower from Ace Hardware in Jacksonville, FL about 6 months ago. This lawn mower is amazing! For a push lawn mower, it glides across my lawn with ease.

I have never owned an electric lawn mower before but the sales associate really sold me on this one and I do not regret my decision to switch.

The best thing about this electric mower is the removable battery. It lifts out easy and can be charged inside my home. With the high price of gas these days, being able to operate my mower via battery charge is a life saver!

Works great on any size lawn. I even bought the extended battery so I can have additional run-time which allows me to cut my front and back yard in the same day!. It was ready to use out of the box, and very user friendly.
