Black & Decker CM1936 Cordless Lawn Mower
I have had my Black and Decker mower for a couple of years. It is the battery operated CM1936
cordless. The concept of cordless mowing is great but the mower never mowed very well, leaving streaks of uncut grass in my lawn. Other than that I like the plastic housing, still looks like new and is easy to keep clean.
The CM1936 mower has around 36 Volts of power which is enough to mow my lawn, and the height adustment is ingenious. After 2 years, I need a new battery, I have noticed it having trouble keeping up the last year, especially after fertilizing.
The battery costs up to $120.00. I found a replacement for as little as $39.00, which I bought to replace my own. It didn't work properly with my Black and Decker mower so I don't recommend you do this. Buy a proper manufacturer supplied battery.
Now I am thinking that I will just buy a new mower and I guess I am not happy enough with this one to buy another just like it. So I am going to look at another brand.
My son just bought a cordless mower on my recommendation, but I didn't suggest he buy the Black and Decker because it was too expensive. I hate to pitch my mower because it looks like new but I don't want to pay so much to replace the battery especially since it never cut real well. I got it at Sears. Hope this helps!
