Craftsman DYS 4500 Lawn Tractor Riding Mower

I have a Craftsman DYS 4500 riding lawn mower, I purchased it at the Sears department store in Seattle Washington about two years ago. It is known as one of the higher end riding lawn mowers, yet it is reasonably priced. I really love this lawn mower as it gets the job done and it does it awesome.
I originally chose this one because some areas of my yard are steep and have small hills in them and most riding mowers do not do very well with them. I was told by the sales person that the DYS 4500 model would do the job and it does. It is a very easy mower to understand, one foot pedal propels and reverses the mower in a very easy fashion and the automatic transmission makes for a very smooth ride. It also includes cruise control which I find really nice because my yard is quite big.
I rate it a five out of five on the comfort level, the seat is very good for long rides nice and cushy. It has several different heights that you can cut your lawn at, which is handy for different seasons, and for the hilly and steep areas in my lawn.
It has a wide turning radius of 16" mainly due to its large cutting deck. This mower is a very tough and durable machine - I have run over some very large rocks and they have never even chipped the blade. I also love how quite this mower is, on most mowers you can hear it 3 blocks away, this one on the other hand you can barely hear inside of the house.
The craftsman DYS 4500 also doubles as a snow remover which is great because you get your moneys worth all year round. The only real drawback that I have noticed is that it is a bit slower than most mowers so it takes a little longer to get around the yard and you cannot tow things about with it, but it does what it says - it mows your lawn and it does a darn good job at it.
I would say that this lawn mower is best for medium sized yards - if you have a large lawn you may want to purchase something that is a bit faster and has a bigger motor in it .
