Honda Harmony II

I purchased a Honda Harmony II approximately 3 years ago at a Home Depot here in Kitsap County. I have a lawn service so the machine has only about 50 hrs on it and it has died.

I have a friend who is a mechanic look at. He replaced the spark plug, cleaned the carborator, and was unable to get it to even turn over.

I called a Honda Repair dealership in Bremerton and it was $160.00 just to look at it and no guarantee that it would work.

I am extremely upset with this type of service and workmanship with a HONDA machine. I had always heard they were the best to purchase and have been disappointed!!

Of course the warrenty period is over but was hoping that the company itself would stand behind your product. Please contact me and let me know what steps to follow next.

SUPER LAWNMOWER
by: Anonymous

I PURCHASED A HONDA HARMONY II ABOUT 8 OR 9 YEARS AGO AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT'S A GREAT LAWNMOWER, THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I JUST HAD IT SERVICED FOR THE FIRST TIME, MINOR STUFF, CLEANING THE CARBURETOR, NEW SPARK PLUG AND UNPLUGGING THE FUEL FILTER BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START.

I HAVE TO SAY I'M VERY SURPRISED IT IS STILL WORKING DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE ON MY PART BY NEVER MAINTAINING IT, BUT IT'S WORKING BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.

I'M A WOMAN WHO JUST STARTS THE ENGINE AND CUTS THE GRASS. NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT. I USED TO BUY THE SEARS BRAND THAT ONLY LASTED 2 YEARS AND FINALLY I CAN SAY WITH HONDA I'VE GOTTEN MY MONEY'S WORTH. GREAT GREAT PRODUCT. NEVER HAVE WRITTEN A COMMENT BEFORE BUT I FELT THIS IS WORTH WRITING.

Have you tried the air filter?
by: Mark McKnight

Firstly, thanks for sending us your comments. Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Honda mower. From my experiences, the engines are usually pretty reliable.

I don't have any connections with the Honda company. I am a totally independent reviewer of their products.

I had a similiar problem with my Honda lawn mower when I first got it. It turned out to be the air filter.

When I turned the lawn mower over on its side to clean it, some of oil inside leaked onto the air filter and blocked it. This stopped the engine starting.

I discovered that you can only turn them over to clean them on the opposite side from the air filter.

Try removing the air filter and starting the mower. If it starts, then your air filter is blocked also. You will need to buy a new one. They are not expensive.

Hope this helps you.
