Honda HRR216VKA Self Propelled Lawn Mower

by Lisa C. Norfleet
(Richmond, Virginia)

The lawn mower I would highly recommend to anyone would be the Honda HRR216VKA self propelled lawn mower for the perfect cut lawn and perfect handling. I live in Richmond Virginia where we see a lot of rain and a lot of grass growing. We have to cut pretty much every other weekend and sometimes every weekend in the spring time.

My backyard is quite large and the lawn is not too level around here to push a heavy push mower all over those holes and hills. I am a female, and would suggest this for any woman trying to have a lawn mower that almost does the job for you. You just follow behind it and empty the bag. This by the way is easy to put on, and take off.

I have had this Honda lawn mower now for three years and have not to have any heavy maintenance on it yet. Routine oil changes and a spark plug here and there.

The cost of the mower is a little high around the $400 mark, but you get what you pay for. I purchased mine at Lowes using a 10% off coupon so I got a little bit of a break, it also came with a 3 year warranty which was a great option. They put it together for me right there in the store and put it into my truck.

Not only does the Honda HRR216VKA mower do an excellent job of cutting the grass it also mulches. Now the only problems that I have encountered with this mower have been that you are not able to cut anything above 3 1/2 inches. Don’t get me wrong the Honda will cut what you need it to or mulch what you need it to mulch but you’re looking at going over it twice, and emptying that bag a lot.

The fold down handle is great for storage when I am not using it. On a scale of one to ten, I would give have to give this Honda HRR216VKA mower a 9!

The Honda HRR216VKA Is Perfect For A Senior Like Me
by: Max Ward

My lawnmower is a Honda, model HRR216VKA. It was purchased in Atlanta, GA, where I reside. I purchased the mower in the spring of 2011 because the Honda I had for probably 20 years was in need of costly repairs. The old mower had served me well, but at this point it seemed wise to replace it.

I was only interested in another Honda. I purchased the new Honda HRR216VKA mower from the hardware store where I have traded for years. I have confidence in their knowledge about the products they sell. The salesperson knew my needs and recommended this Honda. While I have had it only ten months, it has met expectations in every way.

First, it is easy to start, requiring only one pull of the recoil starter. This feature is critical to me because I have arthritis. The mower also requires that the clutch lever be engaged or the mower will immediately stop, a critical safety feature. The mower has a rear shield to protect the operator from thrown debris, or a grass bag can be attached, opening the shield, so clippings are not left on the mowed area.

During mowing season, I find I frequently need to adjust the cutting height. Therefore I chose a mower where height could be easily adjusted. I do not have to struggle with the weight of the mower as I make the adjustment.

The Honda HRR216VKA mower also has a feature called "smart drive" control which can be adjusted up or down to regulate the ground speed. The smart drive control is located at the top of the handle and can be operated without moving hands from the clutch.

This particular model does not have a throttle level to control the speed of the blade rotation. The blade always runs at a fast setting, desirable since a good cut depends on both a sharp blade and a fast rotation. The grassy part of my yard is fairly large and has both flat and sloping areas.

Because the Honda HRR216VKA mower is self-propelled, I can maneuver it anywhere that is required. I can easily totally change direction or follow a curve in the landscaped areas. I do not like the job of fueling any mower or power equipment, but I must say this Honda is easy to fuel. The fuel tank cap is located right on top of the mower, not in some awkward location on the side. I can easily see how much gas is in the tank. Also if there is any spillage, I can quickly wipe it up. I am completely happy with my Honda. I have not had any difficulty operating it. It has started easily no matter the temperature outside. It has NEVER stalled out.

Because of the safety features, I have been comfortable allowing my grandson to use it. The instruction manual is clearly written and provides an easy reference should I have a question. And I have the knowledge that I have a product for which I can easily get both parts and good service as needed.

Had The Honda HRR216VKA For Six Months And Really Pleased
by: Richard G. Kimball

I have purchased a Honda HRR216VKA lawnmower. I have been an avid Honda car lover since I can remember. What does that have to do with a lawnmower? Well, I heard from a friend that had purchased it recently how well it worked on his property.

Since I was a fan of the brand name of Honda, I had to check it out. Plus the price was pretty decent too. It can mulch, bag and discharge clippings like most normal lawnmowers. It seems to have a lot more power than most other mowers I have tried.

The only downside that I can see, is I am a tall person, so the handle can be a bit low to the ground for me. I have used the mower for 6 months now, and I can't say I'm displeased with it.

I really hope it can live up to the Honda name and last a long time like their other products. I bought my mower at Home Depot. I would have to say this mower if best suited for a normal yard. If you are looking to mow acres of land, you may want to invest in a riding mower.
