Got the Neuton CE 6.2 battery powered lawn mower and don't really like it. My husband and I purchased a new home last summer on 2 acres of land in Wiscasset, Maine. The terrain is uneven with dips in spots, and requires mowing uphill and downhill.
When evaluating what kind of mower could handle the job, we did some research online. My husband and I never really considered ourselves "Green", but when researching we decided to consider an electric lawn mower. We needed something with power, that could handle the rough terrain. We also needed something with a fairly large cutting radius to handle the large yard.
We decided to purchase the Neuton CE 6.2 electric lawn mower. It has a 36 volt, 50 amp motor, giving us plenty of power to maneuver up and down hills and bumpy terrain. It came with a 19 inch cutting path, slightly smaller than our last, making for a few more trips up and down the lawn.
It adjusts to a 3 inch high cutting level, but the uneven terrain made it impossible to cut at the same level. It required frequent adjustment of the blade height. It was an expensive lesson, we had to replace several blades. The battery life of the Neuton CE 6.2 lawn mower is rated for approximately an hour, it takes longer than an hour to mow our lawn. Due to the lack of battery life, we are forced to mow the lawn in two separate days to complete the job.
On a good note, the wheels are nice and big and handle well on rough terrain. It is very quiet, not to bother the neighbors if you want to mow on a Sunday:) It comes with a bag attachment, which I really can't comment on because we have never used it.
This lawn mower would be perfect for someone with a fairly small yard, with some small bumps along the way. All in all, my husband and I definitely will be considering something more practical for our needs this year.
