Toro Timecutter SS5000 Zero Turn Mower

I have been using the Toro TimeCutter SS5000 for the past year. I was very intimidated by the speed of mower at first, but now that I am used to it, yardwork is a pleasure. The features I love about it are the maneuverability, speed and smooth cut. I used to own a Murray Rider, and the difference in the cut of these two mowers is huge.

The Toro produces what I call "professional cut", where as the Murray did not. The only thing I do not like about this mower is the tracking. It turns great in one direction, but the opposite direction handle is somewhat slow to respond. This is a great mower for large yards.

I have 3 acres, approximately 2 of which have numerous trees. This is no problem with the Toro as I can mow right up to the edge of the trees without hurting them. This has knocked off about 2 hours of weedeating each week from my yardwork.

I purchased this mower at the local Home Depot. Even though this mower is a 50” cut, it is outstanding for all areas of my yard, even the small areas surrounded by flower beds. My only dislike of this mower is the weight of it. It is somewhat heavy in comparison to my old mower, and if the yard is wet, this mower will get stuck easily if put in adverse mowing areas.
