I recently bought a Troy Bilt 12A-A26MO11, single speed, front wheel drive, and self-propelled lawn mower from Lowes, in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. I brought it home in the box, but it took less than 10 minutes to put it together and start mowing my lawn. This is definitely a mid-priced mower, but perfect for my size yard and lawn.
One of the features it has is a rake guard, to hold the grass blades upright and allow for a more even, efficient cut. It has a height adjuster, depending on how short you want to cut your lawn, and it adjusts easily.
It has a rear bag, to catch the grass, side discharge, to just shoot the grass out to the side, or a mulch mode, which just drops the grass back down under the mower. This mulch mode is the option I prefer, but the bag is great for days when I’m mowing up leaves along with the grass.
Another great feature is the deck wash system, which has a connector for a hose. With the hose and mower on at the same time, it cleans the upper deck and the blade, which makes cleaning the mower a lot easier. I use this mower for a fairly large backyard and moderately sized front yard.
It has a pull start, which fires the mower right up on the first pull. The mower rolls smoothly over the grass and propels itself along easily. It is still fairly new, so I haven’t had any issues with it yet.
There is one feature that is kind of annoying, and that is a rear safety guard on the back of the mower. It catches very easily, on any uneven ground, so I have to lift the mower up to get the guard to move back into normal position. Otherwise, the lawnmower has worked great. It’s not a fancy mower, but it requires very little effort to start or push, unless the rear guard gets stuck. It gets the job done.
