The Troy Bilt 11A-A26M011 is my favorite mower. My son mows lawns as a summer job and we have gone through several mowers. This one is by far the most durable. I usually use the mowers on our own lawn, and this one can handle any length of grass. Once our grass was at least one foot long, and it handled cutting it like mowing the shortest grass ever.
Our lawn is close to an acre and it is great. It has several gears for the speed of the push. Uou can go fast or slow and it cuts it all the same. You also have the blade speed settings. It was relatively cheap for being a commercial grade mower.
While my son has been mowing about 8 lawns a week, it doesnt seem like it has even worn down. It has lasted us 2 years of constant use. I bought it from the local home depot, it came highly recommended.
The only downside of this mower is the bag size. It fills up pretty quickly and the traction on the wheels is also shaky. If the grass is damp, the wheels will just spin and spin not getting you anywhere, but it handles steep hills very well.
My son mows a business that is all very steep hills, and it will never even slip backwards. This mower is also quite light. It seems very light for all the power it has. When in full gear, it practically pulls you. The height adjustment is also extremely easy to use and there is only 2 adjustments, one for the front, one for the back. It always starts on the first pull and the pull string is surprisingly non resistant.
