Troy Bilt Bronco Riding Mower - 42" Cutting Width With Kohler Engine

by Floyd Brown
(Buffalo, New York)

I own a Troy Bilt Bronco Automatic transmission mower that I've had for three years. I am from Buffalo, New York and have about an acre of land to mow every week. The mower runs great, it cuts through tall grass like a machine, and with the auto transmission, I don't have to worry about switching to low gears or high gears. The traction is a little sketchy in really really wet conditions, but is great in dry conditions.

I'm glad there is a brake, but I don't really use it all that much. I have had to replace two blades, because of hitting tree roots, which messed up the mowing deck level a bit. I bought the mower at Lowes which has great accessories for the mower. The bad part about the mower is that the engine has a really hard time starting especially in the cold, but when it's been running for a while it starts up in an instant.

Also, the battery died within the first year of using it, but it came back to life with a charger. I wouldn't recommend this mower for anybody with steep hills, because even on flat lands where I'm going top speed and I turn sharply the mower gets on two wheels. The mower is best for medium lawns, with minimal hills.

The Troy Bilt Riding mower is surprisingly agile, and can maneuver around trees and bushes like a champ. I have really enjoyed riding this mower, with the cup holder and padded seat. This brand is a highly respected brand with many years in the company to back it up.

The lawn mower comes with 20HP and 42" staggered side discharge with an 18" turning radius. The Bronco has a premium Kohler engine, and comes with a two year warranty. The mower is a great deal when comparing to other brands.
