Troy Bilt Lawn Mower 12A466M011-100706

We currently own a Troy Bilt 21" Self-Propelled Mower, which has a Briggs & Stratton engine. The model number is 12A-466M011-100706. We live in Raleigh, North Carolina where we are known for our green grass and Carolina blue skies. We bought our Troy Bilt mower from a Lowe’s Home Improvement store in town.

We have owned our lawn mower for three years now. Within the three years we have owned the mower, we only ran into one problem with it, which was our fault. We forgot to refill the engine oil. If the mower does not receive an adequate amount of oil, it will not start.

We use our lawn mower the months March through September. We will cut our lawn once a week, though sometimes we will skip a week. We do not have too much land. We only live on a third of an acre. This is the reason why we purchased a push mower instead of a riding lawn mower. The price is also lower with push mowers.

Overall, the Troy Bilt mower has put up with some abuse we have given it over the years. It has performed exceptionally well considering the circumstances. Our only complaint with the Troy Bilt mower is that it cannot handle tall grass very well, but we would think this would be the case for any push lawn mower. If the grass gets too tall, we have to tilt our lawn mower on its back wheels to let the grass pass through the escape.

Our lawn mower comes with a bag attachment, and that works really well. The bag holds a lot of grass clippings too. The blades on the lawn mower are sharp. We can mulch leaves and small tree branches with our lawn mower. The Troy Bilt mower is easy to maneuver. For example, my wife can carry our son in a backpack while our dog is connected to the handle bars of the lawn mower. What a sight to see!

Our lawn mower produces some noise, which we would say is average among other lawn mowers. We do get great gas "mileage" out of our lawn mower. We can cut our lawn with a third of the tank. We are not sure how much gas the gas tank holds though. It is usually months before we refill our two gallon lawn mower gas jug. We are pleased with our lawn mower, and we would definitely keep Troy Bilt mowers in mind when we need to purchase a new lawn mower.
